Older versions of Zotero Connector (the browser extension or add-on) have been linked with temporary IP blocks from some publishers. If you have this experience, please check the version of Zotero Connector you're running and make sure it is up to date. You should be running 5.0.104 or higher for Firefox and Chrome, or 5.0.105 for Edge. If you're not running 5.0.104 / 5.0.1045 or higher, update Zotero Connector.

To check which version you're running in Chrome:

  • Click on the three dots (top, right in Chrome)

  • Select More Tools and then Extensions

  • A new tab will open showing all of your browser extensions

  • Find Zotero and click on Details

  • The details tab will show you the version just below the description

To check which version you're running in Firefox

  • Click on the three lines (top right in Firefox)

  • Select Add-ons and Themes

  • A new tab will open showing all of your add-ons

  • Find Zotero and click on it

  • The details tab will show you the version just above last updated

You should be able to search other browsers (Edge, Safari, etc.) for extensions or add-ons in the same way to see what version of Zotero Connector you're running.
