iThenticate is a text similarity checking tool that compares documents (including journal article manuscripts, proposals, research reports, thesis, and dissertations, etc.) against millions of published works, subscription databases, and web pages.

Some funding agencies and publishers use iThenticate in their review workflows to evaluate the originality of submitted proposals and manuscripts.

Caltech licenses iThenticate for use by Faculty, Post-Docs, and Graduate Students. IMSS is responsible for making the accounts available, and the Library offers user support and training for users once their accounts are set up.

Eligible users may access iThenticate from access.caltech. Once logged in, look for the link under 'Academic Services.'
