Books placed on reserve for courses can be found in two different Caltech Library locations.

The Sherman Fairchild Library (SFL) will house most of the reserves, while the Geology Library will house some for courses within GPS or ESE. Please check Canvas or the Library Catalog for the correct location.

If you'd like to check out a book on SFL reserves, please ask the Library staff member at the Information Desk for the item and they will retrieve it and check it out to you. The loan period is typically three (3) hours, but some books have a longer loan period at the discretion of the instructor.

Course reserves can be highly popular so we ask that you return the book when it is due as other students from the class may need it. Please return the reserve book to the library from which you checked it out.
