To begin a 'Quick Search,' click inside the search box (center column, top-right) and start typing your search terms. As you type, only those items in the center column that match the search terms will remain.

'Quick Search' can be used in three different modes:

  • Title, Year, Creator - searches just these three fields
  • All Fields & Tags - searches all fields, as well as tags and the text in notes
  • Everything - searches all fields, tags, notes, and indexed PDFs (go to http://libanswers.caltech.edu/faq/205270#index for more information about indexing PDFs)
