Delivery time is dependent on the type of material requested and the location of the material.

For document delivery requests of journal articles or book chapters from Caltech Library holdings, DocuServe can usually fill the request within one business day.

If the Caltech Library does not have the requested material, we request it through interlibrary loan. The time can depend on the library sending the material, the availability of the requested material, and the accuracy of the details of your request.

Most articles or book chapters requested from another library arrive within 48 hours. Physical materials (books or microfilm) can take at least a week to arrive.
