Overleaf is a collaborative, online LaTeX document creation platform that is free to Caltech students, staff and faculty. LaTeX is a document preparation system that uses a markup-type language to format and display information. It is open source and platform-independent — a LaTeX document can be read and formatted by any LaTeX-based program — i.e. MiKTeX, TeXShop, Overleaf, etc.

The Caltech Library is providing free 10 GB Overleaf Pro accounts to students, staff and faculty who would like one. An account lets you create documents, store images and files, collaborate with other Overleaf users inside AND outside Caltech, and use the extensive template library to format articles, theses, reports, etc. For more information, please visit https://library.caltech.edu/latex. To sign up, visit overleaf.com/edu/caltech.
